People in Phan Xich Long street, Phu Nhuan district (Ho Chi Minh City) have seen strange birds on the 110kV power line for the past three days. The bird is tied with a rope, so it gets entangled.

Receiving the news, on the afternoon of July 17, the electric staff and representatives of Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department came to use a ladder to rescue the bird successfully. When locked in the cage, it constantly struggled, emitting a cry. The bird is about 20 cm long, spanning 40-60 cm.

According to the representative of the Forest Protection Department, this is a gray-backed bird very difficult to meet in Vietnam. It can be raised but escaped. "The precious bird will be taken to Cu Chi wildlife rescue station to take care and nurture for a while, then it will be released back to the wild," the representative of the Forest Protection Department said.

The gray-backed bird has its scientific name Falco columbarius, which is a species cut in the Northern Hemisphere. In Vietnam, there is no assessment of the conservation status of this bird.
