admin

This is the 12th annual run organized by Red River Runners (RRR), Sporting Republic and the companion of the Center for Nature Education (ENV) to encourage the community to commit NOT to using products from tigers, to end acts of hunting, capturing and trading tigers.

This year's run is held with distances of 5km, 10km, 21km, 3km family run track and 1km children. Besides the individuals, the event will bring together a lot of participants, including representatives from embassies in Hanoi, non-governmental organizations, ENV business partners and celebrities.

The biggest threat to tigers in Vietnam is illegal hunting and trade. Tigers are mostly traded for bone to make traditional medicines. In addition, baby tigers or some other body parts of tigers are often used to soak wine, even considered decorations and jewelry of high value. According to many statistics, it is estimated that there are only 5 wild tiger species left in Vietnam.

Besides, sources said that illegal tiger breeding activities are still taking place in many localities such as Nghe An.

With every step of "Running for the Tiger" as well as every commitment made through the activities in the event that we are contributing to reducing the demand for high tigers and tiger products, supporting our efforts the doors of tigers raising facilities.

In particular, the money raised from the run will be used to support tiger protection activities in Vietnam.
